In June of 2024, my daughter and I were lucky enough to spend the month exploring Italy. A country that radiates delectable food and jaw dropping scenery. We had started our month in Sicily where we had the pleasure of staying in Taormina, the island of Salina, and Palermo. I noticed the earthy aromas immediately. The salty olives and capers, the sweet citrus, and the brisk ocean air filled our noses in all the best ways for ten straight days. On the island of Salina, we stayed in a town that had a store where women would drop off bushels of capers and olives and you could find every caper spread and olive oil imaginable. I wanted to bottle up the smell of that store and bring it home, and that's when Sicilian Escape was born.
